Kansas City, MO and Palatine, IL (September 5, 2014) – The American Royal Association and Weber-Stephen Products LLC today announced a sponsorship to support the 35th annual World Series of Barbecue® Championships in Kansas City, Missouri.

USA Today, Forbes, the Travel Channel, and Condé Nast Traveler have all declared the American Royal’s World Series of Barbecue® Championships the world’s largest, most famous, most prestigious, and best barbecue contest and festival. Spreading over 54 acres in Kansas City’s Stockyards District, the World Series of Barbecue Championship contest and food festival features four days of events and activities for all ages.
The World Series of Barbecue Championship held at the American Royal takes place this October 2nd – 5th and features over 550 barbecue teams and professional pitmasters competing for the most coveted titles the barbecue. The 35th annual BBQ event will feature cooking demonstrations by celebrity and culinary instructors, a barbecue-related trade expo, the largest specialty BBQ Sauce Store with a free sampling and tasting table, the Junior Series of Barbecue “Kids Que” contest, a Kids Korral entertainment zone, and a formal induction ceremony for the Barbecue Hall of Fame®.
This year, Weber is supporting the barbecue-centric festival by participating in the all-access cooking demonstrations and hosting grilling classes during the weekend. Attendees will be able to learn from top chefs and culinary experts about new grilling techniques, cooking tips, and recipes they can make at home or on their favorite backyard grill.
Weber is the Presenting Sponsor of the Barbecue Hall of Fame. Celebrity host and Barbecue Hall of Fame member Guy Fieri will be the Master of Ceremonies at the 2014 Induction Ceremony on Saturday, October 4th.
