Q.    How are people and or organizations nominated to the Barbecue Hall of Fame?
A.    To nominate a person or organization to the BBQHOF you must click on the "BBQHOF Nomination Form" link on the main menu at the top of every page.  This link will open up a PDF nomination form and from there you can print this form, fill it out and mail it in for consideration.

Q.    Is there an online form to nominate people to the BBQHOF?
A.    There is no online form for nominations.  The entire process is a manual system by design. We want the best people nominated and inducted into the BBQHOF therefore we feel the manual process will show the care and consideration we desire of the process.

Q.    Does it cost anything to nominate someone to the BBQHOF?
A.    The answer is there is no cost to nominate other than a postage stamp to mail the nomination form.

Q.    What happens after your receive the nomination form?
A.    All nomination forms are passed through a committee of four individuals for their approval.  If a nominee receives at least three approvals from the four members of the committee then the nomination is then passed to the final board that consists of three individuals for final approval.  All of the three members of the final board must approve the nominee.  The board members will be also grading their inductees that they have approved on a scale 1-10, in case there are too many nominations and to break tie votes.  If approved then the nominee or the nominees family is notified of the approval.  The approved member or family is then asked for a short biography that will be used when the approved member is inducted into the BBQHOF

Q.    When is the approved member added to the BBQHOF?
A.    The inductee will be added to the BBQHOF as soon as possible.

Q.    Who are the members of the first committee and the Board of Acceptance.
A.     To begin with I can tell you the two people that are not on the committee or the Board of Acceptance.  The two excluded people are Mike Tucker and Ray Basso.  Because of the involvement of Mike and Ray in getting all of this started they have elected to never server on either of these committees so there is no conflict of interest.  As for the other seven people, well that's a secret.  The identities of the committee and board members will not be made public so they cannot me influenced by others.  The Board and the committee members will not even know who the other members are.  We hope this keeps their decisions' free of inner influences.  They are volunteers who will server in their respective capacities as long as they want to to do this work and their identities remain secret.

Q.    Will Mike and Ray be eligible to be inducted in the BBQHOF?
A.    Mike and Ray are excluded from membership in the BBQHOF as long as they are alive.  Both will be eligible only after they are deceased.

Q.    Will the members of the committee and the board members be eligible to be inducted into the BBQHOF?
A.     Yes they will be eligible since their identities are not know.  If any of the seven identities are made public, before they are inducted into the BBQHOF then they will be removed from the board and/or committee and replaced by someone else.  They will also be ineligible to inducted into the BBQHOF for a period of three years after their removal.
