NEWS FLASH

We are currently accepting nomination for 2010 until the end of November 2010.  To nominate someone to the Barbecue Hall of Fame just click the link in the top menu "BBQHOF Nomination Form."

When you nominate someone to be inducted into the Barbecue Hall of Fame, be sure to include information that will enable the judges to know all the details about the person your nominating.  You in essence are trying to "sell" to the committees the qualifications of the individual you have nominated.  So it is very important to complete the nomination form in enough detail to help them to be accepted into the BBQHOF.

Also it is very important that the nomination form be competed in a legible manner.  If the committee members cannot read your hand writing it will not help to get your nominee accepted.  You can attach as many sheets of information as you feel is necessary.  It is also helpful if you can attach pictures of the individuals.

 

 

About the Hall of Fame

The Barbeque Hall of Fame is a project to designed to preserve the contributions of some of the most important people in barbeque.  In order to be listed in this web page, all nominees have to go through a process before being accepted to the BBQHOF.

All of us at the BBQHOF have a strong desire to make sure that future generations know how much these individuals have contributed over the years to to this cooking technique we all love so much.  The inductees to the BBQHOF are all individuals that have excelled in their efforts.  Inductees come from all walks of life but all share in their love for barbecue.

Selection Process

Nominees must first be nominated by a sponsor.  There is an application that needs to be filled out the sponsor that contains information about the nominees contributions to Bar-B-Que.  This application is then submitted to a committee that either approves or does not approve the nominee.  

Finally approval is them made by the "Board of Acceptance."  After approval by the board the nominee is then notified and asked to help prepare the information about the individual that will be included in the biography.
